Today the weather was not good when we arrived . but it faired up during the day
Our first visitors was a family from the Czech Republic who were here for the Convention .The girl I spoke with had been converted while at a school run by missionaries . .She had been brought up in the Muslim faith . Her story was that she had listened to the Bible stories and decided to put her faith in Jesus which is a hard thing in her country . Her mother was with her and another Lady who was working for Echoes . I gave her some literature which I had picked up at a book stall a few days earlier which would be useful to share with other Muslims
We had a lot of different children using the guessing box
Another man we encountered that day was Derek from the London area who had lost his wife a year before. His visits to the convention spans 50 years and now he was on his own . We gave him some booklets on living with grief and the hope the Christian has.
Another Lady also visiting the convention from Dundee. Her son used the guessing box and we shared the gospel with them both.
A young man, named Jacob searched the guessing box. I noticed he was a sports fan by his shirt. It turned out he was a rugby fan and I had been given a book about what the Bible saand he was delighted with this.
We had a visit from a mother and son who had come to Keswick to take up a new business in the town all the way from the USA . They had only been here for a few days he She told us she .was a believer and I recommended a church that was near for them to attend .
A couple from St Anns, near Blackpool, visited the stall and took some material for their church . They were caring for a lad who was with them .
Again we find the guessing box a magnet for young and older people alike. There were two boys on different occasions who were both called Jacob and Tom told them their name was in the Bible and challenged them to look for it, on google which they said they would.
Many people came and because of the convention so we had more Christians on the day .
Keswick also has many dogs, followed by their owners and whilst the dogs have a drink, it gives us the; the opportunity to give out the tract ; Mans best Friend .So God.s word can reach many and from different parts of the UK and other countries
Please remember this work in your prayers and also the shows during the summer months.
