Today we arrived at the show field nice and early.. As we drew e thought over how many years had passed since our last visit, having been absent for a long time. The weather was on the windy side for a gazebo but it had seemed easier than taking the van. We were allocated a different space than the one on our plan , but we were in the center right overlooking the main showfield,(much better) Next stall to us was a gentleman with whom Tom had a long conversation regarding the planet and how the earth was formed He was able to point out that we believe that God had created our universe. They discussed how our world might be transformed in the future. This man had studied botany at uni and had a good knowledge of trees and plants and their purpose in the enviornment. It seemed good that he was willing to listen and think for himself that this world had a creator and maker.
We had a family who came from Norway. The children were very good with English and enjoyed the guessing box. One boy told me everything in it and could tell me the Bible story connected to the object he found.
As its a farming event we had many young farmers who wanted to try the box. I can remember a set of twins coming who loved trying to guess what we had hidden in the box
We had adults visit us as well, lots seem to work at Sellafield which is quite near.
We had a good day sharing the gospel with these people, some went to church yet most had never been to a church for years So we could tell them good news of how God sent his son to die for mankind. Lots of tracts given out on the day to children and parents. The seed has been sown but it's only God who can save their souls. Please pray for these people esecially the children . People don't attend church much these days so events like this and the market at Keswick are ways to share this good news.
