Paul Clatworthy & Ron Marston May 2023

Ronnie and Paul were blessed with a warm sunny day, this made a pleasant change from the cold, wind and rain we had endured over the winter period. There was a running event taking in the town on the day, but we were still blessed with a good footfall past the stall. The fine weather meant people were more willing to take tracts and interact with us than usual and gave away more than 150 tracts and had a number of interactions with those passing the following being of note.

A passing man on being offered a tract refused it and informed us he didn’t believe in all that religious stuff. I asked him if he didn’t believe in God how he thought the world was formed he obviously couldn’t come with an explanation of how that happened when we asked how he could believe it came from nothing. He set off on his way again but finding he had set off in the wrong direction he came back past Ronnie, who offered him a tract again and this time he took it. Pray he sees the truth.

16th June Ronnie at the stall

A lady asked us who we believed Jesus was, after convincing her we believed in the trinity (not J.W’s) she opened up and thanked us for the work and told us she was shortly to be ordained into the C of E although she disagreed with some of the un-biblical things the Synod was proposing to do. She wanted to try to bring the truth from within. Pray the Lord will help her. Interestingly at the start of our conversation this lady asked me what part of Wales I came from. Imagine our surprise when we found she was totally deaf and could tell my Welsh accent from my lips.

A young person with their carer was looking and the bibles, he was overjoyed when we offered him a Gideon’s New Testament. His carer assured us he would read it and be able to understand it. Please pray for him. There were a number of American tourists again after a marked absence since Covid a number of them came to thank us for the work. One of whom was catholic. We explained to him there was only one was to have your sins forgiven and that Jesus was the Way the Truth and the Life – no one comes to the Father except through him. Pray he sees the truth.

We were blessed with another warm sunny day but thankfully not too hot. There was a good footfall passed the stall and many were willing to receive tracts we had a number of brief conversations, two of the more significant interactions are detailed below:

Benjamin from Teesside - said he believed the world was flat? He was asked regardless of whether it was flat or round how did he think it weas created. He believed it was created by supreme being and soon acknowledged the existence of God. We sheared the gospel with him explaining he would never be truly fulfilled and happy in this life until he had the relationship with the God that he was created to have in his life and he could have that through our Lord Jesus. He seemed to accept this, and we were encouraged as he left with a new testament, God story and promised he would think about the Gospel.

Martin and his daughter Cerys from Mid Wales – Martin told us he was spiritual he believed in supreme spirit or spirits and this world was broken and was getting worse all the time. It was a joy sharing the gospel with these two lovely people who appear to now know the creator is God and that he sent his Son for their salvation and all they need to do is call on his name and they’re lives will be changed for eternity. They left with God’s story, The secret to life’s meaning and an NIV new testament as Martin didn’t have a bible and didn’t appear to know much about it.

Please remember Benjamin, Martin & Cerys and pray that that the seed sown will produce fruit.

We were also encouraged by a number of brothers and sisters who came to thank us for the street work and very encouraged by brother Lincoln who was youth leader and was spending the summer reaching out to children on the beach at New Quey in Pembrokeshire

John called in at Keswick with Paul and Ron

K & M with her husband introduced themselves by saying ‘you didn’t expect three ex-druggies ad alcoholics to come to your stall.  ‘M’ and her husband had been saved, but, K was seeking.  We shared the good news of salvation, giving her the ’Secret of Life’s Meaning’.

John spent quite some time sharing with a Doctor from Leeds, about so many peope suffering psychological issues.  We were able to share, how so many have had a life-changing experience by being ‘Born Again’. We aslo shared about CAP.

‘A’ & ‘B’ were working and living in Dalston, originating from Poland, with a catholic heritage.  We explained that our etr]ernal destiny was not dependant on our good deeds, but Jesus’ death at Calvary.  What the Catholic Bible leaflet says, is  so helpful for them to read.

What a joy to meet a young man, asking for a Bible for his girl friend in hospital.  Pray that she will be blessed through the Word.
