Keswick Market Report - Winter 2014

Post date: Feb 06, 2015 5:44:11 PM

Although the weather was not always kind to us, we always left with a warm heart, having had the joy of sharing the good news of the Gospel with so many visitors to our stall at We had just set the stall up when a visitor from Aspatria called in sharing how he was brought up in the Catholic faith. We explained the difference between Christ and religion and he accepted a leaflet explaining that truth.

A lady said “I am an atheist but after a short talk she admitted she had no idea of the purpose of life but would not accept any tracts as she left us. Another lady came and talked and accepted “The Purpose of Life”.

A young boy 8 years old came to try the Guessing Box when we also explained the Flippa Floppa resulting in both Dad and himself taking leaflets. A Christian from Glasgow called with his Son and Girlfriend, both of whom were pleased to accept a leaflet “In or Out”. An Indian couple from Watford who were of the Hindu faith spoke of doing lots of good works and were keen to learn about the Christian faith accepting the booklet “Journey into Life” and “Why Jesus”. Do pray for this couple.

In November, two sisters from Windermere said their life was dogs and horses but accepted a leaflet “It Just Happened”. Paul from Liverpool asked for Daily Bread Notes. Carolyn was showing a real interest in the Lord and we gave her a Billy Graham DVD, when her husband returned asking for contact details – how thrilling to speak to those who earnestly seek the Lord Jesus.

A young Muslim from Bangladesh living at Bassenthwaite came – he showed a real interest accepting a DVD and “Why Jesus”. His wife is a Christian.

A Couple from Redcar with their children, 10 and 12 yrs. old, the man was an electrician and his wife was brought up in the Catholic Church – she took the CD testimony of Dick Keogh and a Billy Graham DVD following a long conversation.

A young man walking past refused a leaflet saying “I am a militant atheist”. Although we encounter opposition as the young man above expressed, we praise the Lord for the open hearts of those who accepted Bibles, tracts and DVD’s and as always, many Christians come to encourage us and often express how thrilled they are to see a Gospel stall on the Market.
