Cockermouth Show - 2015

Cockermouth Show Saturday dawned wet!  In fact it had rained all the night before, so the entrance to the show field was muddy. The volume of traffic made the ground worse but none of these matters should have affected our day of spreading the good news of God’s Salvation to visitors and exhibitors. Our allotted space was at the far end of the field and as our neighbouring stall holders had set up the previous evening, we had to negotiate reversing the van between two tents. Whilst Tom used his breath for blowing up balloons and I tried to get mine back,  I lifted the boxes of tracts out of the van.

The morning seemed to pass slowly but the cups of coffee and bacon butties kindly donated by a firm of solicitors cheered us up no end.  By then business was brisk with a steady number of visitors. Tom had 40 or more groups, one after the other, at the guessing box and the clock. It was disappointing when young people identified the cross from the guessing box, yet by talking with them, didn't know why Jesus died. Other questions on the ten commandments, left us wondering how could young people learn the truths from God's word. One lady who was there with her niece, was anxious we wouldn't convert her to Christianity.  About 40 young people did have the gospel explained to them and were given a flipper flapper and a gospel booklet.

Fellow believers from all over Britain called by to say hello and greatly encouraged us.

Pray for those who took literature that they will read it and that the Lord will open their eyes to understand it.
