Secretary’s Report - 2010

Post date: Jul 07, 2010 11:55:20 PM

We give thanks to God for His goodness and His protection for the work of CGO during the past season.  It was wonderful to see a good number at Risedale Gospel Hall Barrow in Furness for the Fellowship Rally.  We enjoyed ministry from John Campbell, he focused our attention to Galatians Ch 5 vs 1: You are indeed, free in Christ; therefore, live and enjoy the liberty which Christ has secured for us at such cost, we must tell others of this freedom we have and introduce them to the Saviour.

We trust as you browse through the report you will be encouraged to read of the contacts made and of the conversations with many as they visited the markets and shows.  Some requested Bibles and many received literature, the seed has been faithfully sown, some have watered and God has given the increase. Lives have been touched, and some have come to a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We do appreciate your prayers for the helpers as they make the early starts off to the markets and shows, (especially when the van has to be collected on-route); pray for wisdom and the right words to speak pray for those strangers and the parents who would pass-by, but, were stopped to ask questions as their children played with the guessing box.

We welcome Robbie Williamson from Gretna, who is helping at the Keswick Market twice a month; and is keen to help out at Penrith Market during the summer months.

Mention has been made of the homecall of our dear brother David Locke, we were all saddened to hear of David’s passing on the 25th September 2009.  For many years David worked the County with the use of a Landover Discovery and a caravan; you would see him at the markets and shows, then latterly helping with the work of Radio Outreach.  Our prayers and thoughts are with Jeanette and family at their time of loss.

As we look back at the past season; another year we have been given the opportunity to attend the markets and the shows, Bibles and literature have been distributed.  Lives have been touched, and some have come to a living faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.  To God be the Glory Great things He hath done; we can say with Samuel Ch 7vs 12 “This far has the Lord helped us”.

Stephen Graham (Secretary)
