Dear Friends and Prayer Partners,
Greetings
in the precious name of Jesus. We are now into the new season of our
work for the Lord in 2008 and I would like to thank all those who have
taken over the responsibility of the work while I have been ill (i.e.
sciatica). As yet I have not been out since Boxing Day, but I am
improving and looking forward to doing all I can in the work. Many
thanks for all your prayers. I find it very hard to sit around and do
nothing, but the Lord mows all things and we are in His hands, so in
everything we give thanks.
It was my privilege over he last year
to go out and tell others about our Lord Jesus Christ and what He did
for us on the cross of Calvary and I love to read those words in John
14:6 "Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to
the Father but by Me". Not only did we go throughout Cumbria - which is
our calling - but we were able to go further afield to York and Ireland
again, to encourage and have fellowship with the saints there.
We
now have new stalls at Keswick Market, which are much better; they are
not as difficult to put up as the old ones. There again, they are not
as strong and once or twice the stalls were not erected due to strong
winds.
Last year we were unable to go to many Shows due to the
weather and Foot & Mouth restrictions, but to those we were able to
attend we found many people wanted to talk and came co the van to
enquire what we were doing. "As for God, His way is perfect, the Word
of the Lord is tried, He is a buckler to all those who trust in Him".
Psalm 18:30.
I would like to thank those who came along and gave
encouragement, not just from Cumbria but from all parts of the world. I
have just had a letter From a lady who I met over two years ago in
Keswick; she said it was so good to see an outreach like this.
We
could still do with more helpers at the Shows and the Markets. I was
talking to a brother who called to see me just the other day and his
words really hit home: "If we are not willing to serve the Lord now,
what are we going to do when we get to heaven." It made me think!
We
have now booked to go to thirteen Shows plus the Penrith Market. I have
been in touch with the Manager at Penrith and the van will be outside
the Edinburgh Ml Shop the first three weeks each month. The fourth week
we will be in the Corn Market. David Locke, Syd Nixon and myself will
cover this work From May to September.
We are all workers
together so although you may not be able to come and help, please ml
you uphold us in prayer. Thank you For all your prayers.
